About: Maui McConnel Vacation 2021

We went to Maui again! And I'm happy to report that it is still paradise :)

We were a little concerned about all of the extra steps we had to take to get there due to Covid, but it all went very smoothly and nobody had to quarantine upon arrival - so I call that a success!
(Seattle layover)

Happy maskers

This sunset greeted us upon arrival

The first thing we did was attend my Grandpa's funeral via Zoom. I'm so thankful that my cousins were able to set this up for Jen and I - it was a hard thing to not be able to go in person.

The next thing we did was the beach!!!!

We had SO much fun with the Curtis clan - it's always a good time when we are together!

We had a lot of amazing sunsets, but this one might be my favorite - so many colors!

Okazuya - one of our favorite dives just down the street - they have the all-time best Mac salad.

Lahaina was hot, as always, and Dole Whips (and raspberry whips and floats) were just the thing to cool us down.

The Big Banyan Tree is always breathtaking.

Really, the best attraction is the sunset.

Everybody comes out for the sunset :)

This is a taste of heaven right here...

We never tire of this view

Crazy keiki

One thing we talk about non-stop while we are in Maui is about how colorful it is... everything is so vivid and beautiful. I can't get over it.

Not an exciting pic - but one very cool thing we did was go to a Jim Gaffigan show at the Maui Cultural Center and it was a serious riot! He performed lots of original material - aka, about Hawaiian vacations - so much fun!

Iao Valley is always a highlight - and was Todd's request for his 40th birthday.

This is a spider that I almost walked straight into. You would've been able to hear me scream on the mainland.

The children's request was a trip to the Maui Ocean Center, so we took them and Papa too.

A late birthday lunch for Todd at Star Noodle - the best food on the best waterfront.

Kapalua Bay in the evening is a very quiet place
We hurried home to get pictures of the sunset but just missed it - or so we thought...
but it just kept getting better...
and better...
and better.
aloha ahiahi.

We basically had this beach to ourselves

Todd managed to step on a sea urchin and was so excited to go get a tetanus shot.

Our last day gave us the MOST amazing rainbow.

Heaven on earth

Mahalo to Steve and Linda for a beautiful time - and lots of memories made!
A hui hou Maui!
