Monthly: June 2021

I don't think we've ever experienced a June that was even close to as busy as this one was. When we got home from our California trip, we hit the ground running.

First up was Todd's cousin's wedding - Carolina was a flower girl - which she was beyond excited about. She love's Brad, and now loves Nikole too. She loved her day being all fancy with the bridesmaids.

Next we had two belated memorials for McConnel family members, sweet Aunt Lila and Uncle Pat. Family was in town so they could attend (more cousin time for Carolina!), meanwhile VBS was also happening that week - Liam and I were volunteering and Carolina was attending.

We stopped to get cherries in Emmett.
Oh, and Ripley lived through her stay at the kennel, but she's looking and acting like a real old doggie.

That same week was also Baby-Watch 2021. Jen was already overdue, and we were all anxious for him to arrive. Wouldn't you know he, showed up right after that crazy week was finally over, and although we couldn't go meet him in the hospital, he did get to come home the next day.

Sweet baby Everett

Carolina is the perfect age for having a baby cousin - she absolutely loves holding him and fussing over him. She's really good at holding babies, as she gets a lot of practice.

Jen and Grant had booked a weekend in McCall, and invited us to stay for one night - we were happy to go so we could spend more time with everyone + baby, and get out of the 100+ degree weather we've been stuck in for all of June. It still got up into the low 90s there, but the heat made swimming in Payette Lake feel amazing, and our morning hike was nice and cool.

I'm not at all about rushing through summer, but I think we all kind of felt like taking a deep breath once June was finally over. We have a few weeks to relax (or do house projects, ahem) before we are off on another vacation - and I won't even think about the fact that my summer break is half over, and that this time next year I'll be 40 years old and be the parent of a teenager and a ten year old - I won't think about it.
