Monthly: October 2020 (Carolina's Birthday & Halloween)
Nothing like the last day of winter break to motivate me to do all the things I put off doing all break long - like catching up on the blog! Going back through all of the photos on my phone really reminded me how busy (and fun!) October was. I remember it feeling like the longest month ever - I think that comes from starting off the month with a big event, like Carolina's birthday, and then being anxious for it to end so that the holiday season can begin. I know that fall starts in September, but really summer lasts to October in Idaho. It was funny going back through the pics and seeing us go from shorts to coats.
It's still hard to believe our baby is 9 (don't even think about mentioning that she will be 10 this year) - to make the day special we took her to Olive Garden (I am not a fan but she had never gone and claims pasta as her favorite food, so she was quite set on trying it out). A little later she got her very own pandemic-party in the backyard. She requested pizza and cake pops - which she wanted to help make - and had a great time being celebrated
Fitting 9 candles on a cake pop isn't easy.
We squeezed in one more visit to the Farmstead, it was FREEZING, but the sunset was jaw-dropping.
And more stunning sunsets...
Fall soccer still happened - it was Alice's first season - and it was hilarious and adorable!
We found a new place to walk in Boise, and honestly the weather could not have been any more perfect that day.
The leaves changed, and a big wind storm knocked down most of them at once...
But that zoom out...
it was a lot of leaves.
AND finally Halloween! The kids are getting older (and this one may have been Liam's last) - and they just want to pick out whatever costume from Target - so we did that. Liam picked a video game character and Lina picked a movie character from Descendants.
We also accomplished a big kitchen project and took a lovely trip to Sun Valley in October, those will have to be separate posts :)
