Weekly: April 30-May 6 Great Grandparents Visit!
We spent a few more evenings with Grandma and Grandpa, which included Grandma's fried chicken (aka the best friend chicken ever) and then it was time for them to head back home. It was pretty sad - more for us than the rest of the family because they are going to visit them in just about a month. Lucky ducks. We tried getting a few good pictures - always a challenge with kids - this time Alice is the only one who wouldn't really cooperate☺️
We got in several more walks on the greenbelt - it's funny how Carolina went from solid complaining about being tired etc., to some complaining, to no complaining. Of course it's still only an hour walk max, but we are trying to get everyone ready for Disneyland... haven't decided if I should bring a stroller for Lina - Liam was in Kindergarten the last time we brought him one... if we can fit it, we just might bring it.
SO many baby ducks to watch along the way!
The weather has been beyond nice - I love the time of year when you can leave the door and windows open and let the outside in. I love just sitting on the swing or in the grass and soaking in the, or watching this little beauty take her art outside.
Soccer pictures were Saturday - we are cheapskates and don't purchase those any more - they are so dang expensive! So Todd took a solo shot (although I would've liked a team one too) - he looks so grown up!
Todd and I had almost a whole day without kids because they went to Grandma and Papa's after church and stayed until dinner! We did chores and errands and some relaxing plus a quick date, but the kids had all day-pool time. Our weather does have a bad habit of getting cloudy in the afternoon about the time we are headed to the pool or plan on going there. Kids don't care though.
4 more weeks of school - minus 1 holiday, 3 half days off, and 1 sub day (because I always take a personal day in May if I have one left) - hooray!!! May is my favorite month, not just because of my birthday, but also teacher appreciation, Mother's Day, and end-of-school-year activities and anticipation!
