Weekly: April 16-22

Got to push the boundaries
Most of this week was a blur of fevers and coughs - poor Carolina just couldn't get better, we even took her back to the doctor but were told it was probably just a virus, and it seems it was. She missed all of her school for the week, but by Friday (spent at home with Grandma) she finally seemed to have kicked the fever for good. The cough stuck around, but thankfully it wasn't that bad and meds helped at night so she/we could all sleep.
The whole week just felt yuck between worrying about a sick baby and crappy spring weather. Liam even threw up his entire dinner Thursday night, we thought we were about to deal with another sick kid but that was the end of it - maybe just eating a full meal and then going and running around for soccer practice? That kid has the most sensitive stomach.
So let me tell you, when Saturday came and it was GORGEOUS and WARM - I could not have been happier! I think we all felt revitalized by it! The kids got along well and helped do a lot of chores without complaining. We picked up sandwiches on the way home after Liam's soccer game and decided we should make a picnic out of it in the backyard. Ripley snatched Lina's sandwich when she wasn't looking, but I got in back from her in time... Carolina would've been fine with letting Ripley eat it though. She wasn't a fan!
She loves this old dog more than anyone
We all had a lot of energy for work and play! We did some yard work and even got a little sun on our faces, we cleaned, and cooked, and got ready to celebrate Jen's birthday that evening. I took no pictures and I wish I would've because the kids were so cute in the backyard playing soccer and squirt guns and swinging. Todd smoked a brisket all day and we had lots of sides and then s'mores for dessert at the fire pit. It was so fun! Also, our backyard is perfection right now - we are just loving it.
Sunday it wasn't as nice - we tried to go out and run some errands but were all exhausted - ha! We ended up coming home and being totally lazy the whole day, which was fine because we had been so motivated on Saturday.
The weekly forecast looks amazing, it even shows 3 days in the 80s later on - so it looks like pool season might be open - woo!
It will be a busy week though with the usual activities plus Great Grandma and Grandpa coming into town, Grant's ordination and celebration, Jen's belated birthday party with everyone, and a few more extra to-do's. It feels like the next few weeks are looking the same, and I can't believe we only have 1 more week of April - WHAT?!
