About in McCall! (& Weekly: March 19-25)
Well last week school was super hectic with the end of the third quarter, and all the testing and grading, but thankfully Friday was a no-kids day so I got all of my report cards done, my planning for the next week, and some cleaning and organizing, and felt really good to get super ready for the last quarter (last !!!). Then as soon as I got home we threw our suitcases in the car and headed off for spring break vacation in McCall!
Although, it wasn't quite as easy as all that since first I forgot something and we had to turn around and go back, then stop for gas, then drive to Caldwell for the dog kennel, then Starbucks, then a bakery (because it was right there), and then back to the gas station for a potty break - THEN we headed off.
Mom and Dad rented this "little" house right in downtown - so close to everything that we never got in the car again until it was time to leave. It looked super cute and tiny from the front, but it was really large inside - there was a basement with lots of kids toys, a ping pong table, foosball table, and a theatre room, the main floor with 2 bedrooms, and the upstairs with 2 more bedrooms - and in the back a hot tub surrounded by lots and lots of snow. It snowed a little on our drive up and quite a bit the first night we were there, but then it didn't after that although the forecast had said it was going to snow the whole week and weekend!
Saturday morning we bundled up and walked to breakfast and then around town a little bit, we walked down to the pier on the lake and it couldn't have been more beautiful, the lake was covered but it definitely wasn't very frozen.
And for some reason this was the only picture I took of the kids - the dang Chevron in the background because I thought if they were facing the other way the sun would be in their eyes too much - turns out it didn't matter.
I took a nap and read a little, then we hot-tubbed and Jen, Grant, and the kiddos arrived - really all the kids had a blast in the house.
They had some different fun outdoorsy wallpapers in the house, I loved this one in the kids bedroom.
My Father's Place is the best place to eat in town, we went twice, and had milkshakes both times.
I meant to try to take a pic of all the kids together outside and totally forgot - ugh. But look at this picture of the main street. I have got to work on my picture taking habits.
We headed back Monday morning after breakfast so Todd could go to work that afternoon, it was a short getaway but so nice. It was beautiful and peaceful, and even though it was very cold there was lots of beautiful blue sky and sunshine. We loved being lazy, watching movies, playing games together, walking across the street to the store for kombucha and whatever we felt like we wanted.
