Pin of the Week: Acai Bowls


I had wanted to try an acai bowl for a loooong time, when I finally got around to it last summer in Maui. I loved it! I hadn't had one since, but when I saw some frozen acai packets at the grocery store I decided I needed to make my own. I didn't follow this recipe exactly, I tried to pick and choose from what I've had before and from what friend's have told me about how they make theirs. After making 3 of them I've decided that what I like best is to add frozen mango, a spoonful of plain yogurt, and a little cherry or apple juice to blend with the acai. My favorite toppings are granola, chia seeds, chopped cashews, sliced bananas, strawberries, and blackberries. Here's the link to one of the actual recipes that I "borrowed" from.
