Sticky, sunny, sweet...

Liam becomes more independent and toddler-like every day, in other words, not-so-agreeable anymore... he really wants to do what he wants, when he wants to, and isn't even a little interested in cooperating. Things that used to be easy aren't really anymore, like changing diapers, dressing him, feeding him, putting him to bed, putting him in the car - practically everything we do :) Well, at least life isn't boring!
Today he was boycotting the spoon in favor of his fingers...

I really didn't mind until I took off the bib and found applesauce covering all of his shorts and most of his shirt [next time must remove clothes before feeding]. But Liam was happy and he was eating so I was happy - he's finally got his appetite back after being sick and not wanting anything for so long. He has eaten A LOT today, which could be why he's had 2 poops before 2 in the afternoon.

He was trying desperately to "feed" the camera some applesauce. One of these days I'll get a shot of him gritting his teeth and making his (well, the McConnel) intense face... this is pretty close though with the flared nostrils. One of my favorite things is when he grits his teeth and kind of shakes with intensity while holding my face up next to his.

He gave me a solid hour and a half of shopping time today without much fuss which made me very happy, it was nice to be out and about in the world and enjoying the gorgeous warm weather (93 at last check) - we'll be headed to the pool just as soon as he's up from this nap!

In other news: Maui is less than 2 weeks away!!! I'm trying to weigh my options of buying diapers, baby food, pak n play, etc. when we get there, for lots more money, or buying the stuff here cheaper and hauling it with us at the cost of checking extra baggage... stupid, irritating baggage fees. At least my packing list is ready and I've got almost everything we need to go - still need some good sunglasses and maybe a cute sundress. Hopefully Liam isn't shopped out after today!

  1. Hey, Jess, have you thought about shipping a box of stuff to Maui? If you have the address of where you are going to stay, it might be cheaper and easier to mail, FedEx or UPS stuff there.

  2. so cute! and so glad he's messy!!!! that makes me happy. i always buy diapers there - a pain to pack, but take the pack and play - doesn't count as luggage.
i'm excited to see pics of the trip!!

  3. oh really - i heard/thought the pak n play would count as luggage! if not then we'll totally take it... it's mostly just lame that the place we're staying can't provide them for free - it's $9 a night to rent one!!!!!
