Catching up...

I didn't mean to go a week without blogging, but the weeks go by so quickly! And as usual my I can't remember a fraction of the things that I wanted to write about...

Carolina is 5 weeks old, and she's completely busted out of her 0-4 month size swaddle wraps. The girl is growing like a weed, but she's still kind of skinny so even though her newborn clothes are too short, her 0-3 month size clothes don't fit around her. She's heavy, but I'm pretty sure half her body weight is in her cheeks. She has been sleeping so well this week, after a couple of 5 hour stretches last week, she went back to 2-4 hours, but this week 3 days she slept 6 hours (once I even woke her up to eat) and then a 5 hour stretch last night. For some reason though, I feel more tired... maybe because I don't sleep the 6 hours, since I'm constantly checking her breath when she's been asleep past 3 hours. After some stomach/feeding trouble this week, which ended in me calling the lactation specialist, Carolina has been doing really really well. I'm about to make a batch of salsa though, we'll see how that goes over with her... She still doesn't really like her paci, but it does help with fussiness during the day. Thankfully she almost never needs it during the night, which makes me so happy. She is definitely smiling more - as you will see - and becoming interested in her surroundings. In sad news - I have to go back to work 3 weeks early, although that's only 1.5 weeks of work before Christmas break comes, not too bad - I'll be back in time for the holiday fun.

Liam is either being the cutest, funniest kid I've ever seen - or the biggest stinker. Oh, two-year-olds. He says and does funny things all the time, but rarely do I remember them. One thing I did put on facebook (so you may have already seen it) was that I had given him a toy ad to look at, and he pointed at a huge Nerf gun and said, "I want Santa make me dat! I will shoot you mommy! I will shoot everyfing, I will shoot the floor, I will shoot Ripley, I will shoot everyfing." He seems to understand the Santa thing; and besides being excited for the toy part of Christmas, he's SUPER excited for his cousins to come visit. Every -single- day he says, "Nali (pronounced Nowee) come to Liam's (pronounced Wee-ums) house for Christmastime." One recent prayer I remember was "Thank you for Grandma and Papa, and Nana and Poppa, and for Papa Steve and Poppa Bill, and for two Papa's. And for two... and for Nana and Grandma." With the very cold weather we've been having lately, and a little snow, we've been cooped up inside for the last week and Liam was starting to go stir-crazy (not to mention, his mother). He's finally been able to get out with the grandparents a bit though, which makes him so happy. What would Liam do without grandparents? Potty training is going nowhere, but at least he seems to have learned to sleep in his "cool, new" (yep, still) bed without bumpers and without falling!

We were supposed to be spending this week with the great-grandparents (my mom's parents), but Grandma got sick on the airplane coming here, went to the E.R. the next morning, and has been in the hospital ever since, 5 days now! They think they finally know what is wrong with her, and will starting treating it today - they think she will be able to come home tomorrow or the next day. Please pray that this is so!

Happy to begin with...

getting bored with this...
enough already.
(So frustrated with my picture taking! Not enough light in the house to get good ones - too cold to go outside!)
